Our story
Born in San Juan Capistrano. Built on tradition.
Mariachi Nuevo Capistrano was founded in 2015 by local musicians who wanted to keep authentic mariachi alive in their own community — and to play it well enough that people would remember it.
Since then the group has performed across Southern California at weddings, quinceañeras, church ceremonies, restaurants, festivals and family celebrations. Back-to-back first place wins say something about the musicianship. Clients tend to talk about something else: that we answered the phone, showed up early, and played exactly what was asked for.

How far in advance should we book?
Weekend dates in spring and summer, Mother's Day, Día de la Virgen and December fill up first. Reach out as soon as you have a date and we will tell you honestly whether it is open.
Do you travel outside Orange County?
Yes. We are based in San Juan Capistrano and perform throughout Orange County, and we travel across Southern California — Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego counties included. Distance can affect the quote, so include your venue city when you write.
Can you perform at a Catholic mass?
Yes. Wedding masses, quinceañera masses and memorial services are a regular part of what we do. Tell us your parish and the times, and we will coordinate the music with the structure of the service.
Can we request specific songs?
Yes. Send your list ahead of the event — especially the songs that matter most for entrances, first dances and serenades — and we will confirm what we can prepare.
How long do you play?
Most clients book between one and three hours. Tell us your schedule and we will suggest a length and a way to split the sets across the event.
What do you need from the venue?
Very little. Mariachi carries its own sound, so in most rooms and patios we perform acoustically. For a large outdoor space or a venue with a DJ, let us know and we will plan the sound with your coordinator.
